What should you ask about sterndrives

Re-manufactured stern drives are assembled with new OEM gears & bearings, and new or reconditioned housings and shafts. Our re manufactured Sterndrives have been re manufactured/reconditioned free from defects in materials and rebuilt by skilled marine technicians. These are usually significantly cheaper then purchasing a brand new outdrive. Most drives are available as a re manufactured version. Rebuilt Omc Outdrives, Rebuilt Volvo outdrives, and rebuilt Mercruiser stern drives. The one key here is to be sure you know whom you’re dealing with as some companies are less than honest about their outdrives. I have seen companies claim they hand rebuilt and re-manufactured, however it is likely just a sales tactic. It is unlikely they would replace all the parts with brand new ones as those parts exceeded what they were charging. So if it sounds too good to be true, it likely is. I have also seen the big boys like West Marine and Crowley delivered there drives in piece meaning the upper and lower were not already assembled. This causes you to either spend more time installing it and also means that some parts are separate so they seem more competitive So ask what parts are included with the outdrive, and what else should I purchase. The worse experience you can have is to get your drive and not have what you actually need to install it.
